Children love fruits. Adults love fruits. Everyone loves fruits.
Our cousin Jayesh is staying over with us for a few days.
This morning, after having observed us for months, all by himself, he comes up to me and says “Today I’m on fruit diet. Number one, I have a cold. see *sniff sniff*. And number two, I had pizza yesterday. Well, I did have only a piece, I didnt like it much, I gave it to amma. But nothing should happen to me today no. So I’m going to eat only fruits.”
After a little thought, he says “Well, fan could also be the problem. So tonight I’m not going to use fan. If I’m okay tomorrow, then I’m not going to use fan ever again. And, I can eat!” *Evil laugh*
In the evening we all get an earful, “You are never going to cook ladies finger or kovakkai (ivy gourd) when I’m on fruit diet again! Look at all of you, dancing and eating when I’m on fruit diet!”
By the way, Jayesh is ten years old. He is curious about absolutely everything. “Anna, I’m going to learn everything about Naturopathy and Just Do It!”
“There are two fruits in front of you. An apple and a mango. You would obviously eat the mango!”, he says, enjoying his mango dinner.
The best time to learn healthy diet and lifestyle is when you’re a child. Kudos to you, Jayesh!
