From its humble beginnings as a centre for Yoga practice, SVYASA Yoga University now stands tall as a premier research and educational institution in the field. Led by the Prime Minister’s Yoga Guru, Shri HR Nagendra, SVYASA has unveiled an international conference today in its premises.
Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, is inaugurating the 21st INCOFYRA, International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research and Its Applications, at Prashanti Kuteeram, Bengaluru, today. The aim of this conference is to have a stage for researchers and doctors from all over the world who are practicing Naturopathy, Yoga, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Siddha and modern medicine to make an effort to integrate all these for a better future.

SVYASA (Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana) has invited speakers to give talks on topics like hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, oncological diseases, psychiatric diseases and other non communicable diseases. The speakers include Dr. Ajay Kumar, Founder & Chairman, HCG, Bengaluru, Dr. V Mohan, Chairman & Chief Diabetologist, Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, Chennai, Dr. Shivaram Varambally, Associate Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru. International speakers such as Amrita Suryananda Maharaj, President of the Yoga Portuguese Confederation, and the Founder of Yoga Sámkhya Institute, Portugal, Dr. Lorenzo Cohen, Professor and Director of the Integrative Medicine Program, University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA, Dr. Sat Bir Khalsa, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. will be conducting sessions as well.
