October 29, 2018 By Dr Achyuthan Eswar Leave a Comment

Join Dr. Melanie Joy and Tobias Leenaert, world renown experts, to kickstart your journey to creating a compassionate world.

Session #1: How Vegans can Improve Relationships and Communication – Dr. Melanie Joy

Many vegans find that it’s difficult or impossible to feel connected with the non-vegans in their lives and to communicate about veganism in a way that doesn’t cause cause conflict. Often, too, vegans have trouble relating and communicating with other vegans when they disagree with each other’s ideas. In this presentation, psychologist Dr. Melanie Joy explains the principles and tools for creating healthy, connected relationships, and she gives tips on how to talk about even the most challenging issues productively.

About Dr. Melanie Joy: She is a Havard-educated psychologist, international speaker, organizational consultant, trainer and realtionship coach. She is the author of award-winning book Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows: An introduction to Carnism, as well as Strategic Action for Animals Beyond Beliefs: A Guide of Improving Relationships and Communication for Vegans Vegetarians and Meat Eaters. Dr. Melanie Joy is the founding president of the charitable organization, Beyond Carnism, a co-founder of ProVeg International, and the co-director of the Center for Effective Vegan Advocacy (CEVA).

Session #2: How to Create a Vegan World – Tobias Leenaert

Tobias talks about four key ingredients to create a vegan world. They are qualities or attitudes that the vegan movement can use more of: open-mindedness, to be able to consider different tactics and strategies and think out of the box. Empathy, to be able to get through to people more easily. Rationality, in order to avoid “vegalomania” and purism. And positivity, to keep doing what we are doing and get better results.

About Tobias Leenaert: He is the author of ‘How to Create a Vegan World‘ and a long time speaker, trainer and strategist.  He is also the co-founder and former director of the Belgian organization EVA (Ethical Vegetarian Alternative), the first vegetarian/vegan organization to receive structural funding from a national government. Tobias Leenaert gives animal advocacy trainings worldwide together with Dr. Melanie Joy, for the Center of Effective Vegan Advocacy (CEVA). He is also a co-founder of ProVeg International.

The session will conclude with a Q&A.

This is a FREE session, but prior registration is COMPULSORY. Claim your free seats before they run out!

Raw Jackfruit Curry / Mock Chicken Curry

May 4, 2018 By Aditi Eswar Leave a Comment

Have you tasted Raw Jackfruit Curry? If not, you’re in for a surprise! This strongly flavoured curry is a treat to the senses with every bite. If you are meat eater transitioning to a plant based lifestyle or just someone who loves to experiment, this uniquely textured dish is for you.

Raw jackfruit is used in many Asian cuisines! It is popularly used in coastal Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal and Srilanka. In addition, the raw jackfruit’s unique meaty texture works wonders across a whole range of dishes including curries, side dishes, and kebabs.

Our Raw Jackfruit Curry is made by cooking raw jackfruit in a myriad of spices. Much like meat, the jackfruit itself doesn’t have much flavour, but is great when marinated or cooked with spices as it absorbs them all! What’s more? In addition, we don’t use a single drop of oil or dairy in making this dish.  We also show you how to cook it to best preserve nutrition.

Brinjal Coconut Curry / Badnekai Saaru

April 23, 2018 By Aditi Eswar Leave a Comment

Ah! Brinjal Coconut Curry and I go a long way back. I remember stuffing my face with this curry, wrapped in warm fluffy chappatis, growing up.

Generally the Brinjal Coconut Curry, much like other side-dishes would be super oily. The Brinjal would typically be fried in oil and dunked in an equally oily gravy.

Learning about the powerful corelation between refined food and lifestyle diseases led us to upgrade our lives to a Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle. We missed our favourite curries and gravys, but only until we figured out how to make them with healing ingredients! We also learnt additional methods of cooking that best preserve and enhance nutrition.

Follow this recipe and make some super yummy Brinjal Coconut Curry full of healing ingredients AND super yummy! It goes well with unpolished rice, millet, or millet rotis, so pick your favourite cereal and tell us how you like it.

Upgrade to food that truly loves you back!
